To continue our interest in the formation of a Victorian eHealth Network, Multimedia Victoria (Victorian Government) is holding a third eHealth forum for a highly targeted and select group of participants from business, university, government and research institutions.

The forum will be held in Ballarat at the University of Ballarat in the Greenhill Enterprise Centre (GEC) and is sponsored by IBM. It will include a speaking event and networking over lunch with an optional overview of University of Ballarat Technology Park facilities.

Topic: Innovation in the Clever Country. Why it's necessary.

Topic: ehealth in Ballarat

It is expected that a Victorian eHealth Network, once formally established, will have a primary information technology (health applications) focus and will be set up to benefit smaller businesses, as well as multinationals and research/post-secondary institutions. The network will support information exchange, ideas, peer-to-peer networking, skills/recruitment, product/service showcasing, collaborative opportunities, research knowledge exchange, export support, trade fair support and a government information channel on eHealth.

VIC 1000 Ballarat Awards

Date: Monday 11 May 2009

This event will be an opportunity to publicly acknowledge and reward the efforts and enthusiasm of businesses that participated in the VIC 1000 Ballarat Sustainable Business Management Programme. Prizes will be awarded to participants across four categories: environmental, cultural, economic and social. The region’s overall winner will also be announced.

The programme is supported by the Victorian Government Sustainability Fund and the City of Ballarat, and presented by Village Green Environmental Solutions. More than 120 Ballarat businesses participated, taking part in workshops, assessments and training to learn how to reduce their operating costs and environmental impacts. Annual savings of more than one million litres of water and 300 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions have been achieved.
